Anglers Arms
Dating back to the 18th century, the original coaching inn once provided refreshment and a place to rest for coaches heading to and from Scotland. The Anglers Arms has been a welcome sight for travellers for almost 300 years!

Conveniently situated in the picturesque hamlet of Weldon Bridge which although only a convenient distance from the A697 road to Coldstream, is a world away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The Anglers Arms is approximately 9 miles north of the bustling market town of Morpeth and 13 miles south of the historic town of Alnwick making it the ideal base from which to explore this wonderful county.

Nearby attractions include Brinkburn Priory, an English Heritage property dating back to the 12th century with its very own classical music festival.

The nearby village of Rothbury is well worth a visit, sometimes referred to as the “Gateway to the Cheviots”, it also is the location of Cragside House and Gardens. Built in the 18th century by the great Tyneside industrialist, Lord Armstrong, the house and grounds are now owned by the National Trust. Interestingly, Lord Armstrong was also responsible for the restoration of the spectacular Bamburgh Castle on the coast.

Approximately 13 miles north is the historic town of Alnwick and home to Alnwick Castle and the magnificent Alnwick Garden.

A trip to Northumberland isn’t complete without visiting the spectacular north east coast. From rugged rocky coves and cliffs to mile upon mile of unspoilt beaches with golden sands, it truly has something for everyone.

Real Place, Real Character
The owners of the Anglers Arms, John & Julie Young together with their dedicated team, have worked hard to create a special place that retains the very best of olde world charm and service combined with the very highest standards of service demanded by today’s customers.

The décor of the pub reflects a bygone age, with an eclectic and diverse range of nick-nacks and curios from many ages. It is a place that has a real heart, a real character of a place with it’s own spirit.

Welcome to the Anglers Arms – Anything but average!
