The Lakes Aquarium is top of the list of where to go and what to do in the Lake District. Visit us on the tranquil shore of Windermere, one the largest tourist attractions in the South Lakes region of Cumbria, for a great family day out. The Lakes Aquarium is a perfect way to access the central Lakes. Whilst being away from the tourist hot spots you may access them from the Quay at the Aquarium and jumping on a beautiful cruise boat to take a leisurely cruise across Lakes Windermere. Lakes Aquarium is gearing up to allow children and adults alike to get up close and personal with its incredible and awe-inspiring creatures through a half term ‘Face your Fears’ event. Every day, children will be able to handle snakes and a giant land snail, use magnifying glasses to observe rock pool creatures and their characteristics and dive into creative discovery bags located around the Aquarium. These will contain storybooks, puzzles, discovery challenges and other useful ways of finding out more about different wildlife. Craft activities will take place daily.
