Visit one of Norfolk's best and largest extant marsh mills, built to grind a constituent of cement and in use until 1948, for subsequently pumping water to drain surrounding marshland. Access: The mill does NOT have any access by road. Access on foot from Great Yarmouth (6 miles) or Halvergate (3 miles), alternatively by rail to Berney Arms (request stop only) or by privately hired boat. View details. Please be aware that there are very steep steps between the floors of the mill. Dogs: Assistance dogs allowed only inside the mill. In the area around the mill and on the walks to it dogs on leads are welcome but must stay on public footpaths.
