Bignor Roman Villa is a great place to learn some interesting history in a beautiful setting, which includes the farm belonging to the family who are descended from the farmer who originally found the remains. For curious minded and scholastically encouraged kids, you can't beat a bit of villa! Budding history buffs can find out about 2 academically different periods of time as the mosaics are covered by Georgian buildings, which have recently been renovated. It's a great chance to see how large such villas used to be, how they were laid out and the beautiful mosaic designs they used. Kids can also to learn about the discovery of this site and why the buildings which cover it are unique in their own right… spoilers!
