During 1985, the Great Western Railway's 150th anniversary year, the Trust
opened a small museum in the down side waiting room at Blue Anchor
Station. So far, around 550 items, mainly GWR or with a West Country
bias, have been loaned or donated, and many are on view in themed
dispalys. The museum also publishes a range of information leaflets.
The museum is financed by donations from visitors and admission is free. It is supported by a group called the "Friends of BARM" who help with staffing and fund raising. Blue Anchor Railway Museum is open on Sundays and Bank Holidays from Easter to September. It is sometimes possible to make special opening arrangements |
