Originally built as a shooting lodge by the esteemed Earl of Effingham, Boston Castle is a 2 story cuboid building standing tall on one of Rotherham's highest points in the grounds of Boston Park and Gardens which are themselves a lovely place to take a picnic. Recently restored to former glory, the Castle is a Grade II listed building with modern visitor facilities added in. Admission: Admission to the Castle is free, but there may be a charge for some activities and events. Opening Times: Boston Castle is open from April to September on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. Opening times are 11am to 3pm. Last admission is at 2:45pm.
