Breamore House and Museum Life in a typical village like Breamore can be relived in the Breamore Countryside Museum which provides a fascinating insight into the days when a village was self sufficient. There are full size replicas of a farm worker’s cottage before the advent of electricity, a blacksmith’s smithy, a wheelwright’s shop, a brewery, a dairy, a saddler’s shop, a cobbler’s shed and agricultural engineer’s workshop. In the house itself visitors can enjoy seeing a wide variety of paintings as well as tapestries, porcelain, 17th Century needlework and a rare James 1 carpet. There are also fine examples of period furniture. An added bonus for kids is the adventure playground which also boasts The Great British Maze! Well worth exploring.
