Brockhole Lake District Visitors' Centre on the shores of Windermere has loads to do outdoors and indoors with a 30 acre site of shoreline, woodland and meadow to explore with trails available to buy to help motivate the kids. When the beautiful surroundings have exhausted you, there is also an adventure playground for 5 to 14 year olds packed with rope walks, slides, swings, scramble nets and zip wires. Admission: Activities are free but there is a pay on exit parking system. Up to 1 hour: £2 Then 40p for every 20 minutes. Up to a maximum of £8 for the day. Opening Times: Visitor Centre and shop: 10am to 5pm Cafe: 10am to 4.45pm Gardens and adventure playground: 8.30am to 7pm Winter opening from 4 November: Visitor Centre and shop: 10am to 4pm Cafe: 10am to 3.45pm Gardens and adventure playground: 8.30am to 7pm Open every day apart from Christmas Day.
