The County Museum was founded by the Bucks Archaeological Society in the mid 19thc and was operated by the County Council from 1957. In 2014 we started a new existence as the Bucks County Museum Trust which receives regular revenue support from the County Council and Milton Keynes City Council and is governed by an independent Board of Trustees. The museum showcases the county's rich heritage alongside a changing programme of exhibitions in the Buckinghamshire Art Gallery and we also have the Roald Dahl Children's Gallery. Admission to the Museum is free. The museum Curiosity Coffee shop serves ice creams, hot and cold drinks, cakes and light snacks all day and has a large garden area for fine weather. Our shop is stocked with a variety of Roald Dahl books and souvenirs, Country books and related local produce, household and other gift ware |
