Buckland Abbey
Buckland Abbey is set within a beautiful estate full of meadows, woodlands, and orchards, and has over 700 years of history to discover, which you can do with the help of children’s quiz and trail, plus a number of other family activities for inside and outdoors.
The Abbey is part house and part museum, with a magnificent Great Barn that has barely changed since it was built, and filled with treasures, such as the legendary Drake’s Drum! Make sure you check out the ‘Nave Gallery’, which contains their Rambrandt self portrait that you can get up close to, and there is the opportunity to be a part the Abbey’s own work of art by sending them your selfies!
Once you have explored the amazing buildings, discovering their history as you go, there are magnificent grounds to explore, with a secret ‘wild’ garden and loads of lovely plants.
