Cannon Hall Museum is a charming country house museum set in 70 acres of historic parkland. Kids will love the childrens room with costumes, puzzles and hands-on learning plus the war zone with sights and sounds of war through the ages helping history come to life. The gardens outside the museum are beautiful with plenty to explore and a great place for a game of hide and seek. There's also the Fairytale folly for the children to play in. Fairyland incorporates some atmospheric stone arches with sweet winding paths, cute fish ponds, stands of majestic Yew trees and a babbling stream with stone bridge to create a dream-like garden. Family trails are available and fishing in the lower lakes is also available and tickets are available from the car park ticket machines. And right next door you've got Cannon Hall Petting Farm and Adventure Playground which is managed separately but a great way to extend the day out even further! Admission: Entry to the museum, park and gardens is free, though there is a charge for some events. Parking costs £3 per day for cars, coaches £5. Fishing tickets cost £3 per day for adults, £1 for children and senior citizen. Opening Times: House open Easter to the end of October- Saturday to Wednesday 11am to 5pm last admission 4.15pm. Closed Thursday and Friday. Gardens and Park open all year round. Please note the Walled Garden is locked at night and some weekends during the winter months. Car park opening times- January and February: 8am to 4pm. March: 8am to 6pm. April to October: 8am to 8pm. November and December: 8am to 4pm. A traffic flow system allows vehicles to exit the car park after closing time. The overspill car park, when in use, is locked at 5pm prompt.
