Of the several trails in Cardinham Woods The Lady Vale Walk is probably the best one from which to view the Autumn Colours. Cardinham is a mixed wood, with areas of native woodland including oak, rowan, alder, and willow, and stands of beech. Autumn is also a good time of year to spot deer, see birds in the bare trees, find hazelnuts and sweet chestnuts on the ground, and discover many weird and wonderful fungi.
