Cliffe Castle Park and Museum With the recent reopening of the new and improved museum there are naturally a wealth of exciting new displays and activities for you and yours to enjoy - including atmospheric period reception rooms with sparkling chandeliers and renovated historic light fittings, plus a new Dining With The Butterfields display that will give you a glimpse into how this noble family would have wined and dined their important guests. Cliffe Castle Museum was originally the rather spectacular mansion of local Victorian millionaire and textile manufacturer, Henry Isaac Butterfield, a long standing point of focus for local history studies so an excellent chap on whom to write an extra credit report for school! The manor stands in amongst attractive hillside grounds with aviaries, green houses and a children’s play area for playing at Lords and Ladies! Admission: Free! Opening Times: Grounds and Park Open all year round. Museum Tuesday to Friday 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday 11am to 4pm Last admission 3.30pm Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Good Friday and Mondays except Bank Holidays. |
