One of Hackney's best loved traditional parks, with a rich history, this former country estate was first opened to the public in 1889. Since 2007, Clissold Park has held a Green Flag award. The Green Flag Award Scheme recognises and rewards the best green spaces in the country. Hackney currently has thirteen Green Flags - one of the highest totals in London. Restoration of Clissold Park and HouseAs part of a jointly funded initiative between Hackney Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, £8.9m is being invested to restore Clissold House and Park for Hackney residents and visitors.
