Congleton Museum tells the fascinating story of the area from prehistoric times, through the English Civil War, and the heyday of the textile industry to the Second World War. There are 4 major themes in the main exhibition gallery, all associated with the town’s past, each presented through interactive touch screen screens, a relief map of the town, and talking heads! The collections span over 4,000 years, with information about prehistory gathered through archaeology, a series of exhibits that chronicle the English civil war, plus an exploration into the impact of the Industrial Revolution on the local area.
