Curious About York

ork is a North Yorkshire city, with more miles of intact walls surrounding it than any other city in England. Inside the walls you'll find an abundance of things to see and do, making it one of the most must-go-to cities in the UK.

There's superb shopping, a market, a tangle of meandering streets including the Shambles which dates back over 900 years with a richness of overhanging, timber-framed buildings.

There are creative museums, beautiful gardens, the busy River Ouse, a 13th century palace, street entertainment, art galleries, and staggeringly beautiful architecture. And amidst it all there the magnificence of York Minster, overlooking the city, with foundations routed in the nation's earliest history.
