Doonies Farm sits on the cliff tops between Aberdeen Lighthouse and the village of Cove. The farm is home to some of Britain’s rarest breeds of cattle, sheep, horses, pigs, goats and poultry. It is a working farm that is managed using mainly traditional farming methods to encourage local wildlife to flourish too. For generations of children, Doonies has been their first contact with the countryside. Now we need your help to ensure that Doonies remains open and to make it even better! The Friends of Doonies is a group of volunteers and sponsors working to save the farm from closure and to enhance the facilities for visitors of all ages. We can only do this with your support. Together we can transform Doonies into a modern visitor attraction that not only introduces children to agriculture and the environment, but also offers our community so much more. We have exciting plans for new facilities, new features, and an enhanced education programme. We will make Doonies more fun than ever. With your help, we aim to create a fantastic new Doonies Experience Centre. Combining learning, leisure, retail and catering facilities, it will be a really great place to visit – time and time again! |
