Doune Broch: Dun Carloway is one of the best-preserved Iron Age Brochs in the whole of Scotland. is in the care of Historic Scotland. The Visitor Centre at this site was built in order to promote a greater understanding of the Broch. It is constructed from local stone and is built into the hillside. It houses "The Chamber - Scenes from the Broch" display, interpretation boards which give a lot of information about the Broch's history and significance to the local community throughout the ages. There is also a gift shop and Public Toilets. |
