The oldest intact building in the care of the National Trust for Scotland, Drum Castle was, from 1323 to 1975, the home of the Irvine family. Situated in the world famous castle country of Northeast Scotland and standing at the gates to Royal Deeside on a ridge overlooking the River Dee 10 miles from the heart of the granite city, Aberdeen. Opening times | Castle: 31 March to 30 Jun, daily (but closed Tue and Fri), 12.30-5; | | 1 Jul to 31 Aug, daily 11-5; 1 Sep to 31 Oct, daily (but closed Tue and Fri), 12.30-5.
