Duxford Chapel

A modest but complete and attractive 14th century chantry chapel, perhaps originally a hospital. Before You Go Parking: No parking on site but restricted on-street parking on Station Road is available close by, and the chapel is adjacent to the car park for Whittlesford Parkway railway station. Facilities: There are no facilities at the chapel but it is adjacent to a pub and on the edge of the village of Whittlesford. Dogs: Assistance dogs only. Plan a Great Day Out If you're looking for things to do in the area, just seven miles away lies the decadent mansion house and estate of Audley End House and Gardens. Visitors can explore life above and below stairs, with costumed Victorian characters (every weekend May to September), resident horses, pretty parterres and 'Capability' Brown landscape. Or less than three miles away is the Imperial War Museum Duxford, set within a historic airfield famous for its role in the Battle of Britain, where you can explore aviation history and discover what it was like to serve at RAF Duxford. On production of their membership card there, English Heritage members can take advantage of 2 for 1 entry on adult tickets (this offer is not valid for air shows or pre-booked tickets).
