For all lovers of Nature, Escot is a totally new gardens experience. It is uniquely attractive to garden enthusiasts and families alike. Here are champion trees and elegant shrubs amidst woodland paths, picnic spots and forest playgrounds. As the historian Polwhele said back in the eighteenth century: ‘‘Perhaps there are no plantations in Devonshire so strong and luxuriant as those at Escot.’’ Against
the backdrop of this beautiful corner of East Devon, visitors can solve
the world class maze, letterbox around the estate (a kind of
nature-based treasure hunt), watch the wildlife (including otters, birds
of prey, wild boar and red squirrels), discover the Play Barn and the
exciting forest play areas (including Forest Leap, a unique woodland
drop slide) and enjoy our home cooked local food and delicious cream
teas. Escot is open daily from 10 am. We are only closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The Park closes at 5pm in the Winter (1 October to 31 March) and 6pm in the Summer (1 April to 30 September). The Play Barn closes every day during the winter at 4.45pm and every day during the summer at 5.45pm. Escot is a dog friendly attraction but we do ask our visitors to ensure that they are kept on their leads at all times. Dogs on leads are charged 50p. Access to the Wetlands, Seahorse Trust and the Coach House Restaurant is free. Admission Prices :
