Haysden Country Park
At Haysden Country Park there are a wide variety of things to do, including walking, a children's play area, nature study, volunteering and a number of countryside related events.
The cool adventure play area near the main car park, features a nicely nippy aerial runway, climbing structures with slides, and swings including a tyre swing.

It's fairly traditional stuff, nice and sturdy, good for kids up to around 12 so long as they're careful of the smalls.
The numerous waterfowl, wild flowers and insects are prolific and interesting enough to facilitate mini beast safaris or botany spotting and a surfaced path around Barden Lake allows easy access for all. There's also fishing and sailing to had at the freshwater lakes (provided of course one has the license etc) and the waters' edge hosts a whole extra eco system of mini beasts to study.
There are also events organised here throughout the year and several clubs use the park as their base so if you've got a particular interest it's worth checking ahead for the special stuff, particularly in summer.

Admission:
No entry fee.

Opening Times:
The park opens daily thoughout the year, from 7.30am and closes at dusk.
