The official Hornby Visitor Centre is a princely treat for chuff and rev heads of all ages, featuring exciting rare products from the Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix and Corgi ranges that will have collectors drooling! You can track the history of Hornby’s iconic model trains from the iconic Mr Hornby’s early homemade toys made in sheet metal, through to the development of Hornby ‘O’ gauge and Hornby-Dublo, accompanied by spectacular Model Railway and Scalextric layouts! Mesmirising! The Hornby Retail Shop naturally offers an extensive range of Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, Humbrol and Corgi products, plus if you can make it to one of their Make 'n' Paint activity days the kids will make up and decorate an Airfix kit to take home with them included in admission! And for your true train spotters (of any age over 5 years) you can even have a birthday party here, which as well as Visitor Centre exploration also offers model making, Scalextric Racing and catering from their on site family diner: The Just the Ticket Cafe! You can also check out 24 extremely rare Pocher sports car models, and there's the multi media Airfix D-Day exhibition, too, including a 26 sq m hand built diorama! This exhibition area is light enough for a small kids to peruse but full of detail for those who want to use it for schooling older types.
