Horsham Museum and Art Gallery offers lots of fun things for kids to do and is housed in a medieval timber framed building. They have over 26 galleries that are filled with displays and they run an activities programme throughout the year. The exhibitions include a cabinet of curiosities, a toy gallery, a vintage fire engine and the rather gruesome Crime and Punishment, Law and Order sections (with a gaol cell!). The kids will like the relaxed and fun lay out of all the displays and will learn some really interesting facts at the same time. There are museum trails to follow and panel labels especially for kids can be found throughout. There are two walled gardens to explore, which also contain items from the museum’s collection such as a lead pump, the plinth of a sundial (the plate of it is modern) and two milestones that are now used as seats. Admission: Free! Opening Times: Open Monday to Saturday (excluding bank holidays) 10am to 5pm.
