Inveraray Castle is a unique piece of architecture and was the first of
its size and type to be built on the West Coast of Scotland. Visitors to
the Castle will be able to explore the many historical rooms available
to the public, and helpful guides will answer any questions you might
have. Both Morris and Adam died before the castle was finished and Adam's sons, John and Robert, brought the castle to completion 43 years after the first stone was laid. The castle we know today was the result of a fire in 1877, which resulted in the addition of the third floor and conical roofs on the corner towers. With tea rooms, a gift shop and beautiful gardens its a whole day out and with on site accommodation you can spend a few days there
