A visit to Lyme Regis would not be complete without a stroll to the end of the historic Cobb and a visit to the Marine Aquarium, one of the most fascinating visitor attractions in West Dorset. Discover close up the local fish and marine life of the Jurassic coast and learn about Lyme's maritime history. During a visit, you'll have the opportunity to interact with the sea creatures. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the truly unique experience of hand feeding the mullet, holding a starfish and stroking a lobster. Although we're compact in size, you'll find a variety of fish and marine life on display including Lobster, Mullet, Starfish, Ballan Wrasse, Short Spined Sea-Scorpion, Hermit Crabs and Sea Mouse. Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium is positioned on the historic Cobb in Lyme Regis. It is a unique experience that endeavor's to show the local fish and marine life of the Jurassic coast in a unique situation on the end of the historic Cobb. It is an interesting museum located in a historic building that has been used for a variety of purposes over the years. In 2008 the aquarium will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium is located on the end of the Historic Cobb. Access is along the Cobb wall. To find the Cobb within Lyme Regis please follow the signs to the seafront. Opening hours Spring and Summer The aquarium is open daily between 1st March until 5th November from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Winter 2015 During January and February the aquarium will be open at weekends only (10.30am to 3pm). If for any reason we are unable to open, for instance due to adverse weather, we will advise via our Twitter feed. We are open daily during the February half term period.
