The Oxford Bus
Museum has its origins in the Oxford Bus Preservation Syndicate, established in
1967 by a group of enthusiasts who had the foresight to realise that vehicles
of potential significance to future generations should be saved before they
were lost for all time. Beginning with
just one vehicle – which can still be seen and ridden on – the collection grew
until permanent premises were needed. The Museum hours of opening are from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Last admission is at 3.30pm. It is open throughout the year on Sundays, Wednesdays and most Bank Holidays. From Easter to the end of September, it is also open on Saturdays. Please visit the events diary page before your visit to check for any variation to these standard times, especially around Christmas and the New Year. We will also open the museum for private parties by special arrangement outside normal opening hours, but on such occasions there are no concessions and a minimum charge of £50 applies Admission to both museums in 2011 costs:
