Peterborough Adventure Playcentre is accessible for children
aged 5 (in year 1) up until their 14th birthday, of all abilities
and specific needs. The provision allows children to learn new
skills and try new challenging activities. The centre originally
started out as just a playcentre and over the years has developed
an exciting and challenging adventure centre too.
The playcentre provides free, open access play opportunities.
There is a charge for schools and other agencies to use the
adventure centre activities.
Facilities
- A large sports hall with an indoor bouldering wall and the
opportunity to take part in archery, football, basketball, hockey
and roller sports.
- A farmyard themed soft play room with large enclosed ball pit
and slide; this is a popular area for children to relax or let off
steam.
- An activity room that encourages social play and houses audio
visual equipment and electronic games or just an area to sit and
chat.
- An art and messy play room where children are encouraged to
express their creativity with drawing, painting, model making and
other various activities.
- A main room/lounge area where we have a television with DVD,
video players, playstation and Wii to use on request.
- There is also an extensive range of reading books for all ages
within our small library.
We support and encourage children to help plan activities and
choose the activities they want to do; we are all about having fun,
learning new skills and making the playcentre a welcoming place to
be.
