At Plym Valley Railway, we have rebuilt a 1.5 mile section of the ex Great Western branch line from Marsh Mills to Plym Bridge. The line used to run from Tavistock Junction, just outside of Plymouth, to Launceston. It is a heritage railway centre where we are preserving steam and diesel locomotives, carriages, wagons, and other historic railway artefacts to recreate the atmosphere of a bygone age. As well as train rides, we have lots of engines, carriages and wagons to see. We have viewing areas so you can watch the trains running when you aren't on them! When you get off the train at Plym bridge you can explore Plym bridge woods, which is a national trust property. The Railway is next to a cycle track, so you can bring your bikes, have a train ride, then explore the cycle track through Plym bridge woods. Admission: Admission free. Train Rides: Green and Blue timetables: Adult £1, Child £0.50 Footplate rides: Adult £2, Child £1 Red Timetable: Adult £2 single, £4 return, £8 Rover Ticket Child £1 single, £2 return, £4 Rover Ticket Opening Times: Site open 11am to 4pm on most Sundays throughout the year.
