Portland Museum

Portland Museum is an interesting and friendly little museum with a lot more to see than you would believe from the size.

Today the Museum houses many of the artifacts associated with the history and culture of the Island and tells the story of local industry, the Sea and the People.

There is so much to see and learn about, including shipwreck maps, recovered artefacts and prehistoric artefacts! The kids will especially love the numerous fossils on display around the museum, which include some smart dinosaur bones and giant ammonites: cool! There is also a room dedicated to its founder so those in it for the learning have oodles to take away from this visit.

Adults £3. Seniors and students £2.50. Children over 5 years £1. Children under 5 free

Open 10.30am to 4pm Sunday to Thursday until the end of October
