Praa Sands provides a 1.5 mile sandy beach that is backed by a long stretch of dunes, natural habitat area and the village green. At both ends, the coastal path rises up over steep cliffs offering views over Penzance and the Lizard Peninsular. The shallow waters and long wide sandy beach attracts surfers and families alike for a range of recreational activities. There are toilets, a first aid post, lost child centre, shops, park, cafe and restaurant. Lifeguard cover is during the Easter holiday, then weekends until the first of May, then full cover between the first of May and last of September, then weekends only until the October half term and full cover during that holiday. Restrictions on dogs apply between Easter and October. Please note that the the contact details are for Kerrier Council as this place is a bit uncharted: should make for a peaceful day though! Please plan your journey independently. Admission: No entry fee but local parking charges may apply. Opening Times: Summer lifeguard cover. Year round access.
