Queen Street Mill Textile Museum
Queen Street Mill Textile Museum allows you to experience the days when cotton was king and steam ran the world.

You will be amazed to see the fascinating steam engine, called Peace, as it drives over 300 looms in the weaving shed.

There are demonstrations showing toweling and dobby looms, pirn winding and weaving. A lot of the original machinery in the mill has survived, which means that it is largely unchanged from how it would have been over 100 years ago, although it is probably a lot cleaner!

The museum has a collection of machinery relating to the textile industry, but the fact that most of the machinery of the mill still works makes is pretty unique and worth checking out.
