Radstock Museum is home to the collection of the Radstock, Midsomer Norton and District Museum Society and celebrates the history and heritage of the former Somerset Coalfield. Dedicated areas demonstrate the coalface and the miners hard, dangerous working conditions. Shop at the Co-op as miners wives did over 70 years ago, re-live the trepidation felt by the children in a strict Victorian Board School; see how the community life centred round the twin pleasures of the church and the pub. Radstock Museum has many interactive and hands-on displays and plenty of guides to talk to plus there is a shop and tearoom that could tempt you during your visit too.
