Redoubt Fortress and Military Museum

Redoubt Fortress and Military Museum is an excellent place to take kids who are interested in history, the military or great buildings.

As well as a large military collection, the museum also holds a range of events and exhibitions throughout the year.

There is plenty to keep younger visitors enthralled, such as the chance to dress up in authentic military costumes and quizzes to complete. There are also Hands on History events giving kids the opportunity to lift cannon balls, make buttons and do other activities with the family.

Tours run twice a day and are included in the price so this is a great chance for the kids to learn more about the history of the place that was built to defend the South Coast from Napoleon’s forces.
