Rheged – The Movie takes you on a dramatic journey through time. You will meet our hero Luke, as he traces his ancestral heritage back to Cumbria. Journey with him back to old Rheged and meet Celtic Warriors, delve into Arthurian Legend, ride with fearsome Border Reivers and come face to face with a larger than life William Wordsworth. You will also fly over the lakes and mountains for spectacular “birds eye” views of Cumbria – the Lake District – all from the edge of your cinema seat. In Discovering Cumbria, on a large map, you will come face-to-face with the most exciting and dynamic era of Cumbria’s history, from Ice Age to stone age, through to the arrival of the Roman Legions and the construction of Hadrian’s Wall and then uncover the intrigue and mysteries of the Dark Ages, with Arthur, Pictish raiders, Saxon invaders and Viking settlers. Then, find out how you can visit these amazing sites for yourself, or plan the rest of your visit to Cumbria in our brand new, state-of-the-art Cumbrian Information Centre. Cumbria will never seem the same again. Well, we are a number of things really, but the four things we
pride ourselves in is being a destination for family, food, the outdoors
and arts & culture. Housed at Rheged is
indoor and outdoor softplay, a Create pottery painting workshop, a
programme of quirky children's events every school holiday from family
theatre to cookery classes, not to mention the largest 3D cinema screen
around. Our Gallery on the top floor has a
changing programme of art, photography and craft exhibitions and our
large auditorium is often filled with outdoor enthusiasts listening to
their favourite mountaineer or extreme sportsperson. And don't forget
