The Main Pool caters for every need from casual swimming and tuition and sub aqua training, to all the excitement of competitive galas and water polo matches. The Main Pool is a 33.3 by 12.5 metre, six lane, indoor, competition pool. There is an additional 60 metre flume ride, and diving pit which accommodates a 5 metre diving platform and 1 and 3 metre spring boards. The smaller (20 by 10 metre) Learner Pool has been specially designed for new swimmers of all ages. Young children will love to play in the warm water, which ranges from a depth of 75cm to 90cm. Situated in an enclosed grassed area with sunbathing terraces, the free form heated open air pool is an ideal setting for a family outing on a sunny day (open during summer months only). For those who prefer to sit in comfort around the pool, there are picnic tables and a refreshment kiosk serving cool drinks and ice cream. Each of the pools offer a varied range of sessions and activities to provide enjoyment for everyone. From the very young to the not so young, from the learner to the experienced competitive swimmer - there is something for everyone. Torrents of water cascade riders down the 60 metre water slide of pure thrill and excitement which takes a slippery twist out over the garden pool and safely back into the shallow end of the main pool. The flume ride is suitable for use by 'competent' swimmers and children over 5 years of age not wearing armbands. Details of opening hours are listed on all Pool Programmes (see above for links). Please note flume operating hours are subject to change.
