Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre

Standedge Tunnel is the highest, longest and deepest canal tunnel in the country and the site is a visitor attraction which forms part of the amazing restoration of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Admittance to Standedge Visitor Centre is free and a walk along the towpath is recommended to appreciate the beauty of the Pennine scenery. 30 minute guided boat trips on a glass roofed boat into the tunnel are available six days a week at a small charge.
