Nature of EnquiryHi, I am contacting you in the hope that you might be interested in some of our male alpacas for your farm zoo. My name is Kierti Vaidya and I have been breeding alpacas since 2008. I am based in Kenilworth in Warwickshire and have a herd of over 50 alpacas. We currently have a range of gentle, easy to handle and halter trained males – perfect for a child friendly farm environment, in a range of colours. Our males atart at around £250. We also have some more dominant males which would make perfect stock guardians for sheep and chickens. Alpacas are very protective of their ‘herd’ and will easily see off a fox or small dog. To date we have not lost a single youngster to foxes. Even Prince Charles keeps some to guards his livestock! Alpacas are Alpacas are a real joy to own: gentle, inquisitive and endearing animals. Each individual has a personality and habits. It is easy to get to know them as characters and form a bond with them. Unlike many livestock, alpacas are kind to pasture as they have a split upper lip with a bottom row of teeth and an upper dental gum which prevent them from damaging vegetation roots. As the alpaca has pads on its feet rather than hooves there is also far less poaching and damage to the pasture surface which allows faster re-growth. Alpacas are hardy and well suited to our mild climate and can be kept outside in most conditions, although a field shelter is recommended in the heat of summer and for cold winters. Please see our website: www.faerietalealpacas.co.uk for more information. Many Thanks for your time, Please do not hesitate to contact me.
