I am emailing you to ask if you would be able to take a further education on work experience for one or two days a week over the next eight weeks or so.
Katelyn Hood is 16, lives in Saltaire and is studying the Level 3 BTEC Health and Social Care. She needs to do a placement for around eight weeks and has Monday and Tuesday reserved in her timetable for this. She may also be able to give some time on a Wednesday. She is interested in doing a placement relating to supporting children.
No formal assessment of the student would be required by you. The aim is simply for students to gain experience working alongside others. Whilst some shadowing and observation can form part of this, we prefer work tasks to be set for the student and they be involved as part of your team.
Katelyn has an Enhanced DBS check which she can show to you. We also always insist the student first arranges to visit the organisation so both parties are happy with proceeding. I would be grateful if you could let me know if you might be able to consider her for a placement.
