Sunderland Wall is the number one climbing wall in Sunderland, and is one of the largest indoor climbing centres in the UK with a range of climbs suitable for new and experienced climbers, a massive 23 metre wall as well as offering over 900m2 of climbing and bouldering. We offer a range of courses for both adults and children, and cater for everything from birthday parties to kids clubs and corporate events. Once you’ve got over the fact that you’re in this incredible climbing environment and all your faculties are in place, you have to be able to do the following: In order to climb at Sunderland Wall, it is necessary for a climber to be able to perform three basic safety procedures: 1. To put on a harness correctly. 2. To tie on to the rope having threaded it correctly through the harness using a \'figure of eight\' or \'bowline\' knot. 3. Belay using a recommended belay-device and harness correctly. Any climber 18 years and over can sign in and commence climbing after declaring themselves competent to perform the above procedures, and accepting the conditions of Sunderland Wall. Young climbers who can adhere to the above procedures can climb provided they have parental consent.
