The Eling Experience is a great half day tourist attraction comprising the rare tidal powered Eling Mill, a comprehensive local heritage centre, nature walks and a pirate play area! Eling Creek is situated at the peak of Southampton Water, where you can see tidal power used to mill flour on a daily basis in a building built in 1785! It’s really quite unusual to find a fully functioning one so take pictures for school and maybe buy some flour! Just over the road from the Mill is the Totton and Eling Heritage Centre, which shows the history of the area from the Bronze Age onward through great visual displays, exhibits and recreated scenes. Admission: Mill Adult £3.60 Child £2 Family £9 Museum is free but donations welcome: be warned though, leave 1o minutes spare if you plan to donate, there's a short process to go through. Opening Times: Friday 11am to 3.30pm Saturday and Sunday 11am to 3pm Closed Monday through Thursday. Summer opening times 10am to 4pm April to October Wednesday through Sunday.
