Visitors can take a journey through a tropical paradise and experience the sights, sounds and smells of a real jungle. The Jungle, which is home to a variety of parrots, toucans, monkeys, reptiles, giant snakes and iguanas, also accommodates a superb array of unusual and exotic plants. The Jungle is not only a visitor attraction, however, but also provides a haven for rescued animals which have either been abandoned or donated by previous owners. The Jungle Zoo are proud to be one of the newest interactive zoo attractions to be found anywhere within the UK, aiming to be the best small family zoo in the country! Come rain or shine - whatever the weather and whatever your age - there is always something for you to, "see, learn, discover and do" here at The Jungle Zoo. We feel so passionately that all children should have physical access to animals in order to foster a better understanding of wildlife and the natural world around them! It is important to us that we provide safe, knowledgeable care for all of the animals. We are proud to employ well-trained, and very highly qualified Keepers with a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise at their fingertips. Specialist Animal Keepers and Education Officers work closely together to make sure that we offer the highest standards of animal care to ensure that we deliver effective Education to all our visitors. To accomplish this, we offer daily scheduled Keeper talks, feeding sessions and demonstrations in order to inform you, the public, as to the many ways in which we can all contribute to conservation - whether it is on a national level - or closer to home, in your own garden! Opening Times December 2015 until February 2016 - Due to building work and the safety of the public, we are only open on weekends from 11am with last entry at 2:30pm. We will be back to opening Saturday to Thursday 11.30am to 2.30pm as of the 1st of February 2016.
