Home to the Throckmorton family for 600 years, Coughton Court stands testament to a family’s courage in maintaining their beliefs. From a position of high favour to one of fear and oppression post-Reformation, the Throckmortons were leaders in a dangerous age, helping to bring about Catholic emancipation in the 19th century.

This is an ideal venue for group visits and suitable for all ages. Coughton boasts an imposint Tudor house with over 600 years of history, an award winning garden, two marvellous churches and offers bespoke house and history tours. Cheese and Pickle Festival 2013 Join us for a weekend celebrating the best local food Warwickshire has to offer, set in the beautiful grounds of Coughton Court. On the Riverside Lawn, we have a range of local producers selling a range of cheeses, pickles, jams, bread, chocolate, wine and cakes as well as gifts and jewellery. Bretforton's famous Fleece Inn will also be here, serving local beer and cider. The Country Crafts area features a range of demonstrators including rag rugs, basket weaving, calligraphy, rope work and the Heart of England Ferret Association (including ferret racing!). Plenty of interactive activities for children on offer, with music and folk dancing throughout the day. Coughton Kitchen will be serving hot food, drinks and snacks and we also have a BBQ on the lawn. Coughton Coach House Shop will be selling gifts, local honey, books and much more. |
