The Wensleydale Railway runs trains between Leeming Bar (near the A1/A684 jct) and Redmire (on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park), via Bedale and Leyburn. The 17 mile trip takes approximately 50 minutes. This is the first part of a project to restore the full 40 mile route between Northallerton (on the East Coast Main Line) and Garsdale (on the Settle-Carlisle Railway). Our trains are usually formed of heritage diesel railcars from the 1960s, which have large windows and a great view of the line ahead if you sit behind the driver! Please visit their website for train times and days: www.wensleydalerailway.com The Wensleydale Railway is an authentic heritage railway serving the local community, offering tourists, families and transport enthusiasts a great value day out in the Yorkshire Dales with lots to see and do along the way. |
