The cave’s history is a long one. It began with the laying down of limestone deposits, which millions of years later were hollowed out by the action of water. Much later still, in 1923, the cave entered human history with its discovery by Christopher Long. Opening Times (weather permitting) Spring & Summer – February 1st to October 31st The cave is open every day, from 10am. Autumn & Winter – November 1st to January 31st The cave is open on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am. (Group bookings are still available seven days per week at this time of year.) The tour of the UK's longest show cave takes about 80 minutes. The first tour is at 10.20am. There are then tours at intervals through the day, with the last tour starting at 4pm. |
