BEFORE YOU GO
Access: There are slopes and steps on the walk to Willowford Wall from Birdoswald. The walk is not strenuous but it is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Parking: Charged car parking is available at Birdoswald Roman Fort, approximately a 15-20 minute walk away. The fee is refunded to visitors and members who visit Birdoswald.

How to Find It: Follow the Hadrian's Wall National Trail east of Birdoswald for one mile. The route takes you along the longest surviving stretch of the Wall.

PLAN A GREAT DAY OUT
Willowford is the most easterly part of the Birdoswald Roman Trail. This route takes you in the footsteps of the Romans, along some of the most beautiful and imposing sections of Hadrian's Wall.

Willowford is linked by a bridge to Birdoswald Roman Fort, where you can find a tearoom and toilet facilities. Also within a mile are Poltross Burn Milecastle and Harrow's Scar Milecastle and Wall.
