Wings Museum is a really good place for the kids to find out what it was like during the second World War and involves plenty of sensory elements as well as the education. It's not too harrowing but doesn't glorify the war, casting a great balance for a family visit and ideal for backing up school work. The museum is housed in a large hangar style building which is divided into sections for dedicated subject areas if you're after more in depth access for older types and those doing extra credit reports. The centrepiece of the museum is a complete plane fuselage which you can walk inside and explore! Surreal and exciting and perfect your little aeronauts to get their imaginations going! There are original items on display from the Battle of Britain, the Blitz and Dad’s Army. These include engines, propellers, uniforms and many more interesting objects. Admission: Adults £8 Over 60 £7 Children (5 to 15) £4 Children under 5 free Family ticket (2 adults and two children) £22 Opening Times: Open every Saturday and Sunday from the beginning of March to the end of October between 10am and 5pm.
