Zoos generally keep only wild creatures, many of these coming from distant countries. However, a number of zoos house indigenous creatures such as pigs and hogs to display to city kids who may have no way to go visit farms. Kid's zoos are occasionally included in zoological gardens. They could possibly have nurseries where kids can observe small creatures, and sometimes have places where young children can pet and feed tame creatures.  Zoos are also crucial centres for wildlife preservation. A lot of zoos breed protected species, several of which are no longer found in the wild.
