Zoos generally maintain only untamed animals, many of these coming from faraway nations around the world. However, a number of zoos display domestic animals such as pigs and goats to show to city children who have no way to go see farms. Children's zoos are in some cases included in zoological gardens. They may have nurseries where children can see small animals, and at times now have areas where young children may pet as well as feed tame animals.  Zoos are also crucial centres of wildlife preservation.
